Department for Culture, Media and Sport: Public Relations

Asked by Sir John HayesConservativeDepartment for Culture, Media and SportTabled Answered 24 June 2026UIN 10077

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, whether her Department has hired external public relations consultants since July 2024.

Answered by Ian Murray

Public relations activity is a subset of communication spend, as such, this data is not held.

The Government Communication Service encourages the prioritisation of low and no cost public relations activities wherever possible. Where external communications support is required, it is recommended that it is procured through approved government frameworks, which include controls designed to ensure value for money.
