To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what assessment has been made regarding the potential merits of an exemption for school and educational visits from the Overnight Visitor Levy.

The application of the proposed Overnight Visitor Levy to educational overnight visits, including any guidance, exemptions or costs, remains under consideration as part of the policy design process. Decisions on whether to introduce a levy, and on specific local proposals, will be for Mayors and local leaders, subject to local consultation. The public consultation on the design and scope of the levy closed on 18 February 2026, and the Government will set out its official response in due course.
