To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what issues are prison staff taught about in Faith Awareness Training regarding Islam.

His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) recognises the importance of faith and belief in the lives of many people in custody and the role it can play in supporting rehabilitation, wellbeing and orderly regimes. Staff are therefore expected to demonstrate an appropriate level of awareness and understanding of different faiths and beliefs.
