Community Infrastructure Levy
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, whether his Department compensate councils for money lost from previously approved planning proposals for Community Infrastructure Levy funding.
Answered by Matthew Pennycook
The government does not compensate local authorities for money lost from previously approved planning proposals for Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding.
CIL charging authorities are responsible for charging, collecting, spending and generally administering CIL in their area, in line with the CIL Regulations 2010 (as amended) and with regard to government guidance.
