Due process has been followed for the site selection for the new Frimley Park Hospital, which included rerunning and blind scoring all sites identified as suitable for the new hospital to ensure that no prejudgement took place.
Publishing the details of this work, including site-specific assessments and costings, would risk prejudicing land negotiations and exposing the public purse to avoidable costs. The trust is committed to transparency, and through the public engagement process there will be the opportunity for full discussions.
No final decision has been made on the location for the new Frimley Park Hospital. The trust has secured a land option agreement to enable due diligence and survey work, supported by New Hospital Programme technical specialists, to assess whether the site is suitable, deliverable, and able to meet the needs of staff and patients. A land purchase business case will be required before any acquisition is approved.
