To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to Answer of 12 June 2026 to Question 7254, for what reason there has been an overall increase in the number of driving licences revoked on medical grounds for drivers aged over 70 between 2020 and 2025.

The increase in the number of driving licences revoked on medical grounds for drivers aged over 70 between 2020 and 2025 reflects the number of notifications of medical conditions received in those years. During the pandemic in 2020 and 2021 the number of notifications of a medical condition received by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) reduced, with a commensurate drop in the number of driving licences revoked during that period. The number of driving licence revocations has increased as receipts have increased.
