Social Services: Armed Forces

Asked by Cat EcclesLabourDepartment of Health and Social CareTabled Answered 29 June 2026UIN 10465

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether his Department plans to mandate the recording of Armed Forces community status in adult social care management systems in England.

Answered by Preet Kaur Gill

The Department doesn’t currently have any plans to mandate the recording of Armed Forces community status in case management systems. However, we are committed to supporting the shift from analogue to digital by exploring approaches to reform case management systems. This is to ensure local authorities have access to user-friendly, interoperable, and responsive systems that support the best outcomes for people drawing on care.
