Euro 2028
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, pursuant to the written answer of 16 June 2026 to question 7828, if she will publish the independent assessment to demonstrate how benefit will be spread equitably.
Answered by Stephanie Peacock
The Government is clear that UEFA EURO 2028 must deliver meaningful benefits for the whole of the United Kingdom, not just the host cities. Over 70% of matches are set to take place outside of London and the South East, with the tournament’s legacy programme spreading benefits far beyond the host cities. The impact of the tournament and its legacy will be assessed by a full, published external evaluation. This will measure its effect on, for example, economic growth, community cohesion, and sporting participation, across the UK and Ireland.
