The question

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, pursuant to the answer of 10 June 2026, to Question 4168, on UK Relations with the EU, whether the red line policy position not to return to the Single Market (a) entails not joining the EU Single Market in full or in part, or (b) only relates to not re-joining the EU Single Market in full.

The Government's position is clear that there will be no return to the Single Market, Customs Union, or freedom of movement. But this government is committed to reducing barriers to trade and cutting red tape to drive economic growth. This is why we’re negotiating a food and drink agreement, an electricity agreement and linking our Emissions Trading Schemes.
