To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, if her Department will commission an independent review of the adequacy of the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority's internal audit and risk management arrangements in the context of recent a) overcrowding and b) drownings.

There are currently no plans to commission an independent review of the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority's internal audit and risk management arrangements.
This Government recognises the importance of providing access to nature for people’s health and wellbeing and is working to ensure it is safe and appropriate. In the Environmental Improvement Plan 2025, we announced we will bring forward an Access to Nature Green Paper to consult on proposals to improve and expand public access to the outdoors. We want to provide more people with the opportunity to visit our stunning landscapes, and to do so responsibly. The public can support this by following the Countryside Code, which this Government continues to actively promote via public information campaigns.
