The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what the cost to the public purse is per day of detaining the SMYRTOS at Weymouth anchorage.

Answered by Keir Mather

The Department for Transport is lead department for the detention of the vessel. However, we are clear that the ship owner continues to be responsible for the upkeep of the vessel, and provisions for crew members.
