Companies: Registration

Asked by James McMurdockIndependentDepartment for Business and TradeTabled Answered 22 June 2026UIN 10945

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, with reference to the Companies House press release entitled Progress made in cleaning up Companies House register as further steps taken to tackle economic crime, published on 11 June 2026, how many registered office addresses have been changed, removed and corrected as a result of misuse since March 2024.

Answered by Blair McDougall

When we are aware of an address being misused, we remove the address by defaulting the address. As of 15 June 2026, there have been 162,534 removals and rectifications for defaulted registered office addresses which has impacted 160,652 corporate bodies.
