To ask the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, with reference to the Companies House press release entitled Progress made in cleaning up Companies House register as further steps taken to tackle economic crime, published on 11 June 2026, what estimate he has made of the number of companies registered in (a) Thurrock, (b) Basildon and (c) Essex that have yet to finish completing identity verification requirements.

The number of companies that have yet to finish completing identity verification requirements can be split into two – those that are due to file that have not filed, and those that are not yet due to file in line with their confirmation statement filing dates.

The geographic framework used is the unitary authority and as a result Basildon is included as part of Essex.
