To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, what powers the proposed consumer protection service will have to compel installers and delivery partners to undertake remedial works.

We are consulting on proposals to strengthen consumer protections for home upgrades delivered through government schemes through Government oversight of the market.
This includes introducing contractual arrangements between a new Government-led service and delivery partners, setting clear performance expectations and technical standards for installers, retrofit professionals and certification bodies. Non-compliance could result in suspension or removal from schemes, and referral to regulators for statutory enforcement.
We are seeking views on measures that would improve enforcement and compliance.
