Energy: Conservation

Asked by Mr Andrew SnowdenConservativeDepartment for Energy Security and Net ZeroTabled Answered 26 June 2026UIN 10975

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, how many households are expected to be eligible for remediation through the National Energy Foundation where installers are no longer trading and no valid guarantee exists.

Answered by Martin McCluskey

Eligible homes are those with non-compliant ECO4 or GBIS solid wall insulation, where the original installer cannot rectify the measure and the guarantee is missing, fraudulent or was cancelled by the original installer.

These circumstances remain rare, we estimate less than 1% of homes with ECO4/GBIS solid wall insulation. The total number of homes receiving remediation through NEF will depend on factors such as consumer uptake.
