Local Government

Asked by John MilneLiberal DemocratMinistry of Housing, Communities and Local GovernmentTabled Answered 23 June 2026UIN 10989

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, whether he plans to hold a consultation on the new neighbourhood governance framework.

Answered by Nesil Caliskan

The Department undertook a rapid review of local authority-led neighbourhood governance last year, engaging a range of stakeholders including local authorities, sector bodies, think tanks and academics. As the neighbourhood governance framework develops, we will continue to engage with stakeholders to ensure it is informed by a wide range of views. There are no current plans to hold a formal consultation.
