The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to the answer of 17 June 2026 to question 8711 on Military Aircraft: Training, how many trainee pilots have quit UKMFTS prior to completion of their training in a) 2024, b) 2025 and c) 2026 (year-to-date).

From 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2024, two trainees voluntarily withdrew from the UK Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS) Fast Jet Training.
In 2025, no trainees voluntarily withdrew from UKMFTS Fast Jet Training.
From 1 January 2026 to 18 June 2026, two trainees have voluntarily withdrawn from UKMFTS Fast Jet Training.
Of the four trainees that have voluntarily withdrawn since 2024, three transferred from Fast Jet Training to Multi Engine Training.
I welcome the hon. Member’s commitment to holding the MOD to account on UKMFTS issues; however, he should note that to provide this response, alongside his other recent questions on UKMTS, has taken five hours across three people, who would otherwise be supporting the delivery of Defence Flying Training.
