Salisbury Plain
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what steps his Department is taking to maintain the historic buildings in Imber village and the wider Salisbury Plain Training Area.
Answered by Luke Pollard
There are no historic listed buildings in Imber village other than St Giles Church, which is not owned or maintained by the Ministry of Defence.
Across Salisbury Plain Training Area (SPTA), there are 14 historic listed buildings, managed by Landmarc Support Services who conduct four-yearly historic building inspections, assured by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation.
All necessary planning consents, licences, and statutory approvals are obtained prior to commencement of any identified works.
