Great British Railways
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the Answer of 12 June 2026 to Question 4598 on Great British Railways, what innovations in passenger rail services will arise as a result of the establishment of Great British Railways that would not have occurred under previous arrangements.
Answered by Keir Mather
The Government doesn’t speculate on hypotheticals. Great British Railways will be delivering in reality: a single directing mind to end the fragmentation between track and train; integrated timetabling and operations under one accountable body; and the fares, ticketing and retail reform that the previous structure failed to deliver for decades.
