The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the answer of 15 June 2026 to Question 7116, how many drivers were employed by Greater Thameslink Railway on (a) Thameslink and (b) Great Northern services on 1 January 2026.

Answered by Keir Mather

We are supporting Greater Thameslink Railway to maintain and strengthen its driver workforce to improve the reliability and punctuality of services.

As of 1 January 2026, Greater Thameslink Railway employed approximately 616 full-time equivalent qualified drivers at Thameslink depots and 490 at Great Northern depots. As the Thameslink and Great Northern network is integrated, drivers may work services across both networks depending on their route allocations.
