Nuclear Weapons: Procurement

Asked by Ben Obese-JectyConservativeMinistry of DefenceTabled Answered 29 June 2026UIN 11270

The question

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, pursuant to the answer of 18 June 2026 to question 10074 on Nuclear Weapons: Procurement, what his Department's planned timetable is for completing their part in the development of cost estimates regarding the Astraea programme.

Answered by Luke Pollard

Given the significant work involved in developing a new warhead, I do not expect that we will be in a position to complete costs estimates in this Parliament as the hon. Gentleman has requested. This is a multi-decade programme to support our nuclear deterrent.
