Pre-school Education: Lancashire

Asked by Mr Andrew SnowdenConservativeDepartment for EducationTabled Answered 26 June 2026UIN 11235

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, whether any of the new Early Years Stronger Practice Hubs will be located in Lancashire.

Answered by Olivia Bailey

The department was pleased to announce on 9 June that a further 18 early years settings have been selected to lead early years stronger practice hubs. These centres will support all types of early years settings and childminders, improving access to networks and professional development and encouraging an evidence-informed approach to early years education practice.

One of the new hubs will be led by Duke Street Nursery School, located in Chorley, Lancashire. Duke Street is a maintained nursery with a strong track record of exemplary practice, and we are confident that it will develop a Hub to provide excellent opportunities for early years improvement in Lancashire, as well as the wider Northwest region.
