To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what steps he is taking to ensure that youth justice services have adequate resources and capacity to deliver diversionary interventions at scale.

This Government has committed to investing £15.4 million per year in the Turnaround programme until March 2029, to support Youth Justice Services (YJS) across England and Wales to intervene earlier with children on the cusp of entering the youth justice system. This funding enables all YJSs to support children who would not otherwise be on their statutory caseload, expanding capacity for diversionary interventions and helping services support more vulnerable children with the aim of reducing crime. In addition, this Government has committed £93.6 million per year for the delivery of youth justice services across England and Wales until March 2029, providing a multi-year settlement over three years to support services to plan ahead and make the most effective use of resources.
