Saudi Arabia: Military Aid
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, whether any officials in his Department including secondees, contractors and retired personnel have been (a) investigated, (b) disciplined and (c) referred to (i) the Serious Fraud Office, (ii) the police and (iii) any other investigative authority in relation to SANGCOM.
Answered by Luke Pollard
The Ministry of Defence does not comment on individual cases concerning investigations, disciplinary action or referrals involving officials, including secondees and contractors. Matters relating to the SANGCOM programme concern historic issues that have been subject to due legal process and consideration by the appropriate authorities.
The Department has established procedures for addressing suspected wrongdoing and, where appropriate, referring matters to relevant investigative bodies, including law enforcement agencies. The MOD remains committed to the highest standards of propriety, transparency and accountability.
