To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what assessment she has made of the potential impact of retail sale of graffiti spray-paints and related products on levels of criminal damage and vandalism; and whether she plans to introduce further measures to restrict sales of such products.

No assessment has been made of the potential impact of retail sale of graffiti spray-paints and related products on levels of graffiti. We have no plans to restrict sales of such products.
Local councils can take enforcement action to tackle graffiti, such as by issuing fixed penalty notices of up to £500. Councils also have powers to tackle any persistent or unreasonable behaviour that is having a negative effect on a community’s quality of life by issuing Community Protection Notices and Public Space Protection Orders.
