The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, how many referrals to Liaison and Diversion services from police custody were received only after the person referred had been released from custody in each of the last two years for which data is available; and how many of those people subsequently received an assessment.

The information requested is not held as NHS England does not capture this specific data on referrals. However, it expects this will happen on a regular basis as Liaison and Diversion teams are, on average, only present within police custody suites for 12 hours per day, and teams will have pathways in place to follow up those referrals post release.
