The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what is the monetary threshold for due diligence checks for (a) political parties’ local accounting units and (b) Members of Parliament.

All donations with a value above £500 must be checked for permissibility in accordance with the requirements set out in the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act (PPERA).
The Know Your Donor regime will introduce new risk-based due diligence checks on significant political donations. These rules will apply across the electoral regime, which includes members of the House of Commons, political parties and their accounting units as well as holders of relevant elected office as set out in Schedule 7 of PPERA.
All recipients of political donations will need to carry out enhanced Know Your Donor due diligence checks on donations over £11,180.
