The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, whether HM Treasury has formally offered to take control of spending on the Global Combat Air Programme.

The Ministry of Defence is responsible for spending on the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP), in accordance with HM Treasury approvals as is normal practice for a Category A programme, and ensures the highest standards of financial oversight and governance.
