Business Rates
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, whether his Department produces (a) statistics and (b) accounts for tax receipts received from the Central List for business rates in England.
Answered by Alison McGovern
The Department collects business rates receipts received from the Central List on behalf of the Exchequer. Central List receipts are paid over to the Consolidated Fund throughout the year and reported to Parliament via two published annual accounts: The Main Rating Account and the Business Rates Retention and Non–Domestic Rates Trust Statement.
