To ask the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, what support his Department is providing to micro businesses in (a) Lincolnshire and (b) other rural areas.

This government recognises that micro and small businesses are the backbone of our economy in Lincolnshire and across all rural areas in the United Kingdom.
They provide goods and services central to people’s lives and local communities. While the High Street remains a vital source of customers and essential services and sets the foundations for strong local economies.
Our Small Business Plan sets out ways of supporting businesses to start and grow. Through the British Business Bank and its programmes, we are helping smaller businesses to access finance and explore additional support through the Business Growth Service (business.gov.uk) and Growth Hubs, like Business Lincolnshire.
