Aviation: Fuels
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, how much funding has been (a) allocated, (b) committed and (c) paid out under (i) the Low Carbon Fuels Fund and (ii) the Advanced Fuels Fund since 4 July 2024; and which projects have received support under each scheme.
Answered by Keir Mather
For the Low Carbon Fuels Fund (LCFF), £219m has been made available between financial years 2026/27 and 2029/30, with £93m over the first two years and £126m over the latter two. Funding in the first two years will be committed to specific projects following a competitive bidding process this summer.
Under the AFF, since 4 July 2024, over £63m was allocated for FY25/26 to 17 projects, and with one claim outstanding, spend has been £60.2m. In FY24/25 no funding was allocated to the AFF - allocations were made around December 2022 for Window 1 and November 2023 for Window 2. £101m was spent out of the £135m allocated across AFF Window 1 and 2. Information on funded projects from all windows is available on the AFF competition winners page on the government website - Advanced Fuels Fund (AFF) competition winners - GOV.UK
