Asked by Greg SmithConservativeDepartment for TransportTabled Answered 29 June 2026UIN 11740

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, when she expects Free Route Airspace to be operational across all UK upper airspace.

Answered by Keir Mather

Following the implementation and deployment Free Route Airspace in Scotland and the West of England, NATS is working to design and deploy the remaining Free Route Airspace areas.

The delivery and implementation of future Free Route Airspace remain under review alongside other airspace deployments, including the redesign of terminal airspace for London, Manchester, Scotland and the West of England areas.
