To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what assessment has been made of the economic contribution of disabled workers.

In Q1 2026, there were 10.5 million working-age disabled people in the UK, of which 5.6 million were in employment (53.1%), an increase of 1.6 million (1.3 percentage points) since the same quarter of 2019. However, there remains a persistent gap between the employment rates of disabled and non-disabled people; the disability employment gap was 29.1 percentage points in January-March 2026.
