Glass: Recycling

Asked by Sarah PochinReform UKDepartment for Environment, Food and Rural AffairsTabled Answered 26 June 2026UIN 11975

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what discussions she has had with the glass sector on extended producer responsibility.

Answered by Mary Creagh

I, together with my officials, together with PackUK, have engaged regularly with the glass sector on Extended Producer Responsibility for Packaging, including with British Glass. This engagement has included issues such as the development of the fee methodology, material switching, reuse, and wider implementation issues.

The Department and PackUK will continue to engage with the glass sector and to consider evidence shared by stakeholders.
