Food Poverty
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what discussions she has had with the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions on the relationship between social security policy and household food insecurity.
Answered by Stephen Morgan
Defra and DWP Ministers meet regularly. We understand that the relationship between social security policy and household food insecurity is important.
Therefore, we have taken action to address poverty through targeted social security measures. This includes removal of the two-child limit, the expansion of free school meals and through uprating.
