Tower Hamlets Council: Meetings
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, whether Ministerial Envoys to Tower Hamlets have noted whether meetings of that council are wholly conducted in English.
Answered by Alison McGovern
The detail of day-to-day activities of ministerial appointees and their engagement with the local authority in intervention is not routinely reported to ministers, and I am not in a position to comment on their observations.
The Envoys are continuing to work comprehensively within the Council, acting as advisers, mentors and monitors to oversee the Council’s improvement journey and ensure compliance with its Best Value Duty.
