The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, whether he has held recent discussions with his US counterpart on the NATO Force Model.

The UK continues to work closely with the United States to advance fairer burden sharing across the Alliance and the Defence Secretary met his US counterpart at the recent NATO Defence Ministers’ Meeting.

As set out in the previous response to question 11430 on 24 June 2026, we welcome greater clarity from the United States on its future force posture in Europe and remain committed to strengthening European contributions within NATO.
