To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to the Answer of 28 May 2026 to Question 2755 on Youth Mobility Scheme: EU Countries, whether the Australia and New Zealand schemes allow for (a) benefit payment eligibility and (b) families to join.

The UK’s Youth Mobility Scheme (YMS) arrangements provide valuable cultural exchange opportunities for young people aged 18-30 (or 18-35 for some nationalities) to experience life in another country for up to two or three years.
Eligible foreign citizens, including those from Australia and New Zealand, who enter the UK through the YMS route have no recourse to public funds, nor are they able to bring dependants with them.
