Jewish Community Protective Security Grant

The Government is committed to the safety and security of Jewish communities across the UK, and to tackling antisemitism wherever it occurs. We are clear that all communities should feel safe to practise their faith and participate in public life free from intimidation or fear.

The Jewish Community Protective Security (JCPS) Grant, administered on behalf of the Home Office by the Community Security Trust (CST), provides funding for protective security measures, such as security personnel services, CCTV and alarm systems, at synagogues, Jewish educational establishments and other communal locations.

On 30 April, the Government announced £25 million of immediate funding for 2026/27 to strengthen policing, protect Jewish communities, and provide reassurance following the terrorist attack in Golders Green and the recent wider spate of antisemitic incidents.

This included an additional £4 million for the JCPS Grant, taking the total available for the Grant in 2026/27 to £32.4 million. The funding announced in April brings our overall commitment for protecting Jewish communities this year to £58 million, the largest such investment by any government in this country’s history.

We continue to work closely with the police, CST and other partners to monitor threats and ensure that effective and proportionate protective measures are in place where they are needed most. This work on protective security sits alongside the Government’s wider package of support for Jewish communities, and our ongoing efforts to tackle antisemitism in all its forms.
