To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what assessment she has made of the potential merits of aligning due diligence requirements with the EU Regulation on Deforestation-Free Products.

In line with the Government’s commitments to protect the UK internal market and support export-led growth, we aim to ensure the proposed policy in Great Britain operates alongside the EU Regulation on Deforestation-free products (EUDR), supporting due diligence practices that are as consistent as possible for businesses operating across the UK Internal Market and the EU Single Market.
We will consult later this year on the proposed deforestation policy in Great Britain. We will seek views from businesses, civil society and international partners on our proposed policy and the merits of aligning due diligence requirements with the EUDR.
