Veterans: Northern Ireland

Asked by Greg SmithConservativeNorthern Ireland OfficeTabled Answered 30 June 2026UIN 12274

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, what discussions he has had with the Office for Veterans' Affairs on improving access to veterans' services in Northern Ireland.

Answered by Hilary Benn

The Government is committed to ensuring that veterans in Northern Ireland and across the UK can access the support and services to which they are entitled.

I have met with colleagues in the Ministry of Defence to discuss veterans’ affairs, and I regularly meet with the Northern Ireland Veterans Commissioner, David Johnstone, who has responsibility for providing a voice for veterans in Northern Ireland.
