The question

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, with reference to the answer of 4 September 2025, to Question 70519, on Public Inquiries, what the total public cost to date of the Independent inquiry relating to Dawn Sturgess Inquiry has been.

The Inquiry was formally established on 17 March 2022.

The Inquiry last published its costs on its website in September 2025, indicating that total expenditure up until then was £8.03million. The Inquiry updates its cost on their website periodically and further information is available on the Inquiry’s website https://www.dawnsturgess.independent-inquiry.uk/documents/
