To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many headcount staff in her Department are (a) members of the Government Communication Network and (b) are embedded communicators but are not counted as members of the Government Communication Network.

(a) There are 145 individuals working in the Communications Directorate, as reported in the Home Office Annual Accounts 2024/25. Home Office Annual Report and Accounts 2024 to 2025
All 145 individuals are members of the Government Communications Service (GCS).
(b) The Communications Directorate is the professional centre for communications in the department. The Directorate does not embed communications professionals in other parts of the department.
There are individuals in other parts of the organisation who may, as part of their responsibilities, also deliver internal comms & engagement. There is no requirement for these individuals to be members of the Government Communications Service (GCS).
