The information you have requested on the proportion of time-served foreign national offenders (FNOs) is not available from published statistics.

The Home Office does publish data on FNO returns in the quarterly Immigration System Statistics release. Quarterly data on enforced, voluntary and port FNO returns (of which ‘deportations’ are a legal subset) are published in table ‘Ret_D03’ of the returns detailed datasets accompanying the release.

There has been an increase in the return of FNOs by 36%, with almost 10,000 FNOs being returned since this Government came to power.

The Home Office also publishes data on FNOs living in the community having completed their custodial sentences and subject to deportation or administrative removal. The latest published information can be found at: Migration transparency data - GOV.UK.

Where removal is not immediately possible, electronic monitoring can be used to manage FNOs. We will pursue deportation action against individuals living in the community rigorously, actively monitoring and managing cases through the legal process and negotiating barriers to removal.

The Home Office publishes data on numbers of people entering and leaving immigration detention in the detention summary tables accompanying the quarterly Immigration System Statistics release. on overall numbers leaving detention in Det_01, and numbers of FNOs leaving detention in Det_06a. Numbers of people leaving detention who have previously claimed asylum are given in Det_01.
