Railways: Finance

Asked by Sir Ashley FoxConservativeDepartment for TransportTabled Answered 29 June 2026UIN 12907

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the Answer of 17 June to Question 9171, from which budgets within the Department the additional £65.5 million required for Support for Passenger Rail Services in 2025-26 was funded.

Answered by Keir Mather

The department uses periodic forecasting processes to understand and manage variances to its budgets. This is done at the Department Expenditure Limit (DEL) control total level and therefore is not attributed to any specific programmes or budgets.
