Uncrewed Systems

Asked by Ben Obese-JectyConservativeMinistry of DefenceTabled Answered 2 July 2026UIN 12879

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what is the full scope of Project Morrighan.

Answered by Luke Pollard

Project MORRIGHAN is a research and development initiative to explore the use of heavy lift Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) for logistics and, in extremis, casualty evacuation (CASEVAC).

The project has run a two-phase experimentation programme, contracting with carriage system suppliers and platform providers to establish how Defence can optimise the use of UAS for frontline resupply and casualty evacuation. The project is ongoing and Defence is engaged with partner nations to further testing.
