The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the Answer of 24 June 2026 to Question 10469 on Shipping: Russia, whether the Government considered interdicting Russian vessel SMYRTOS under the a) Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Act 2018 or b) Russia (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 during its entry into the UK’s Exclusive Economic Zone.

Interdiction of the SMYRTOS was not considered on the occasion of 24-25 May 2026 due to the need to comply with domestic and international law.
