The question

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, With reference to Deposited Paper, DEP2026-0371, committed on 19 May 2026, on Civil Service facility time framework and guidance, whether it is the Government's policy to change the practice of check off for trade union subscriptions, since July 2024, and further to the repeal of the Trade Union Act 2016.

Departments are responsible for setting their own policies regarding the administration of trade union subscriptions in line with the provisions within the Civil Service Management Code. The Government has no current plans to update the management code on this matter.
