The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, with reference to the answer of 11 February 2026, to Question 110405, on Council tax, what estimate has been made of the number of councils which have adopted budgets for 2026-27

Answered by Alison McGovern

Individual councils are responsible for the design of their working-age Local Council Tax Support schemes and any changes must be made in consultation with their residents. The government does not collect data on the design of these schemes.
