Coastal Erosion

Asked by Rupert LoweRestore BritainDepartment for Environment, Food and Rural AffairsTabled Answered 30 June 2026UIN 13330

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what assessment she has made of the robustness of the evaluation framework for Coastal Adaptation Pilot programmes.

Answered by Emma Hardy

The full evaluation framework for the Coastal Adaptation Pilot programmes (CAPs) will be developed and finalised following approval of the CAPs business cases. The framework will be assessed for robustness, aligning with established government guidance on evaluation. This will ensure that the CAPs build the evidence needed to shape future national policy and long-term funding for coastal erosion adaptation.
